Fritz Oberleitner
Oberleitner's painting revolves around the subtle interplay of vision, cognitive processing and the fragmented information from which our perception constructs reality. He captures fleeting moments and shows how these are transformed into meaningful trains of thought for us.
His figurative painting goes beyond pure representation - it becomes a medium of “visual thinking” in which perception and reflection merge. Using a specially developed perspective, he transforms this thought process into a visual structure that not only depicts the external world, but also reveals the mechanisms of its perception.

His figurative painting makes the thought process visible - a “visual thinking” that reorganizes reflected perception and in a specially developed perspective. Reality is not only depicted, but questioned and transformed. Fleeting moments are condensed into a visual language that blurs the boundary between perception and interpretation and invites the viewer into an active dialog with what they see.

Perspective / spatial representation
In order to deepen this concept, Oberleitner develops a perspective that is not bound by the classical rules of spatial construction. Instead, it arises from subjective perception - an autonomous, inner perspective that is formed from the mental movements of what is seen. In his works, a space is created that not only depicts, but also makes it possible to experience how reality is constantly reassembled in our consciousness.

The visible image breaks down into concrete mental impulses that translate the world into personal ideas and unfold like a visual stream of thoughts. This fragmentation opens up a new dimension of perception, in which the moments are not only depicted, but dissected in their mental essence. The images are not created as static representations, but as flowing processes that actively challenge the viewer's perception and invite them to think. They open up a multi-layered, open interpretation of reality.

Painting thus becomes a simulation, an image of thought in pictures.

Consequently, painting is more of a simulation, a photo of thinking in images: .... images fade, some have a focus, some are in a permanent loop in the brain, new fragments are added and become thoughts.........

Glaze painting by Fritz Oberleitner - perception in motion
Fritz Oberleitner uses the glazing technique to make perception tangible as a dynamic process. Transparent layers of paint create concrete pictorial spaces in which presence and dissolution intertwine.
Fleeting moments condense into complex pictorial structures in which reality and subjective interpretation merge. The glazes lend depth to his works and emphasize the fragility of what he sees. His painting thus remains in constant transformation - open to new perspectives.
